CAA Certified Specialist Drone Inspections
Drone Inspections
Drone / UAV Inspections
Drone inspections allow us to reach challenging locations such as tall structures and hazardous environments without the need for scaffolding.
This enhances safety by reducing risks to human inspectors. What’s more, drone inspections are cost-effective because they minimise the need for manual labour and extensive rigging.
Equipped with advanced imaging technologies like high-resolution cameras and thermal imaging, drones can identify defects and structural issues. Their rapid deployment makes them ideal for urgent assessments, offering real-time data transmission and facilitating quicker decision making. Drones also provide comprehensive documentation, helping ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
With a lower environmental impact, drone inspections reduce the need for heavy machinery and minimise disruption to surrounding areas, making them an increasingly valuable tool for maintaining the integrity of structures and systems.
Unique Waterproof Drone Technology
We are the only inspection service in New Zealand to fly waterproof drones that can land in and take off from the water.
These special drones are ideal for inspecting wharf pilings at water level and operating in the rain - conditions that ground other drones.
Non-GPS Drones For More Control And Better Access
Most pilots use GPS enabled drones which eliminate most of the skill necessary to fly them, but it also removes much of their usefulness as an inspection tool. That’s why 3PI’s highly skilled CAA certified pilots use non-GPS drones to give them the pin-point control necessary to perform detailed inspections.
They are also able to fly in tight spaces, and in places like oil and gas installations that have a large amount of steel in their structures which impedes the GPS signal.
Airborne dust can also confuse a GPS enabled drone as can flying off a shoreline over water.
GPS can also fail, causing loss of control of the drone and subsequent damage to equipment and facilities.
